Bits of the day: Pulse Park, Blessed Chocolate and Your Buddha Face

Pulse Park

Pulse Park at Madison Square Park: Artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer has set up an amazing art installation whereby 200 individual’s heartbeats are translated into great beams of white light. Like a silent symphony. Dusk-11pm, starting tonight through Nov 17. [NYMag]

What a Crock of Intentional Chocolate: As if chocolate wasn’t a blessed thing already, pshh, these ”advanced meditator” chocolatiers claim scientific research proves their “good intention-enhanced” chocolate will bring its consumer “optimal health and functioning at physical, emotional and mental levels.”  Well OK…does it taste any good? We don’t really need the disciples of the Dalai Lama for us to savor some delicious chocolate. They should try packaging this with the Zen Stick, and a pet rock.  [Intentional chocolate]

Buddha Face: Annelise Hagen, author of “The Yoga Face,” demonstrates (some scary-looking) face yoga, while Dr. Ava Shamban, assistant clinical professor of dermatology at UCLA, and Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Andre Aboolian reject half of it. Face yoga= ok, but not nearly as convincing as the eye yoga demo we’ve seen.
