OMG. This is YogaPop retro style. Meet Elvis “the pelvis” Presley in an entertaining turn at Yoga in the 1967 film Easy Come, Easy Go.

Sure the film’s tagline is “Skindiving for treasure, adventure and fun!!!” and comes replete with a glowing imdb.com user review warning “it’s not as unwatchable as Harum Scarum.” Still, it’s Elvis! Doing yoga! Sorta. Besides, who really watched his movies for the plot lines and stellar acting? (sadly). You know what though? He’s not half bad..it’s Elvis! (shout out to @BobWeisenberg for spreading this amazingness)

I do see it cropping up from time to time on Facebook. But what you might not know is that Elvis was reading Krishnamurti, Yogananda, Chogyam Trungpa.

This is hilarious and enlightening! I just didn’t know that Yoga as workout routine was so advanced it could be spoofed at such an early date.
The fact that this film came out in 1967 is actually an excellent history lesson for those who tend to stereotype the late ’60s. There were a lot of things going on back then, not just the Beatles, Viet Nam and Woodstock!
YogaDawg, I really need to know-was Elvis really reading all that stuff, or did you make that up? (Sorry to accuse you of making stuff up.)
