Now that everyone’s back from their business trips, ehem, the Malaysian National Fatwa Council is reviewing the edict, combing through the semantics we assume, as council chairman Dr Abdul Shukor states, the fatwa is “equivalent to a court’s decision.”
“The council will return the draft to me to check for approval but practitioners will know within this week the council’s decision,” he said. Let’s hope they follow through this time.
As mentioned before, we’re feeling optimistic that the physical practice won’t be banned, but suppose we’ll have to wait with the rest of the yoga world for the announcement.
